Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program

Throughout the province, individuals living with mobility challenges identify transportation as one of their greatest needs. The Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program supports these individuals and government’s commitment to more inclusive communities by supporting alternate transportation services for individuals who experience barriers to accessible, affordable and inclusive transportation.

Transport accessibility depends on the awareness and positive attitude of the whole community - in particular those involved in delivering transportation services. Developing alternative transportation systems especially in rural areas offers independence and mobility to people who are non-drivers.

Funding amounts of up to $100,000 are available. The deadline is March 19, 2019. To be eligible for funding, applicants MUST be one of the following:

  • An incorporated municipality;
  • An incorporated, not-for-profit organization;
  • An Indigenous government;
  • An incorporated entity within a local service district

This program is not currently receiving applications.
